<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently improve the productivity and working precision of molds 1, 2 for forming an optical component (molds for press-forming a glass lens) in machining the molds 1, 2. <P>SOLUTION: By elliptically vibrating and cutting a mold material 12 (e.g. hard metal, silicon carbide, cobalt-base super heat-resistant alloy, nickel-base super heat-resistant alloy, and tungsten-base super heat-resistant alloy) by a cutting tool 11 (namely, by forming a locus 13 of elliptic vibration at the cutting edge of the cutting tool 11), molds for press-forming (chase blocks 4, 7) having press-forming surfaces 3, 6 corresponding to the shape of a glass lens are formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
