<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress a degradation in writing position precision of an optical writing unit 70 while improving maintainability of photoreceptors 2Y, M, C, and K and their peripheral device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: the photoreceptors 2Y, M, C, and K which carry latent images on endlessly moving surfaces; the optical writing unit 70 for moving between an operation position where the optical writing unit 70 performs a writing operation to write the latent images to their surfaces and a standby position where the optical writing unit does not performs the writing operation; and four developing devices which develop the latent images carried by the photoreceptors 2Y, M, C, and K. A reference position member is provided at a positioning reference position for the optical writing unit 70, and a positioning part for positioning the optical writing unit 70 at the operation position is provided in the image forming apparatus and energized by an energizing coil spring to be made to abut against the positioning part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
