<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely output requested power when an engine is started at the time of reverse driving. <P>SOLUTION: In a hybrid vehicle in which a first motor, an engine, a drive shaft, and a second motor are connected with a sun gear, a carrier, and ring gear of a planetary gear mechanism, the required starting power Ps is set up for motoring the engine with the first motor on the basis of a vehicle speed V at the time of reverse running, a threshold Pref as power subtracting the starting power Ps from an output limit Wout of a battery is set up (S140 and S150), and the engine is started by motoring when the requested power Pr<SP>*</SP>necessary for the drive shaft exceeds the threshold Pref (S200 to S240). Thus, conditions not coping with the requested power Pr<SP>*</SP>for starting the engine can be prevented since the engine is started at the stage where electric power necessary for output of the requested power Pr<SP>*</SP>and electric power necessary for starting the engine can not be outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
