<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparation of an oily magnetic fluid which does not require addition of any chemical reagent, needs a simple facility, and facilitates its manipulation. <P>SOLUTION: The method of preparation of the oily magnetic fluid includes a bridge agent made of a diaminocompound or an organic extraction agent. One end of the bridge agent is bonded to an oily substance. Another end of the bridge agent is bonded to a surfactant having a carboxyl group, and is separately bonded to a nanomagnetic metal oxide compound functioning as a surfactant. The oily substance is an oily magnetic fluid having magnetism. The method can be applied to disposal of an inorganic metal ion waste water in eliminating oil and organic elements floating in water.
