PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device which can correct uneven concentration caused by errors of recording characteristics of recording elements, such as a recording locational error, an ejected droplet amount error, and defective ejection, with good accuracy, and to provide an image recording method. SOLUTION: According to the image recording device, information indicative of the recording characteristics of the recording elements, including the recording locational error and the ejected droplet amount error, is acquired, and N correction recording elements (where N is an integer equal to or more than 2) for use in correction of output concentration, out of the plurality of recording elements of a recording head, are set, and a concentration corrective coefficient of the N correction recording elements is determined based on correction conditions inclusive of a condition that a differential coefficient at a frequency origin (f=0) of a power spectrum indicative of a spatial frequency characteristic of the uneven concentration, is almost equal to zero.
