PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus and a communication system, capable of improving the security when stored document information is transferred to an external device. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus includes a document information storage function for storing the received document information and a Web service function for disclosing the document information stored in the document information storage function to the external device via a network; and when an acquisition request is made in a state of designating a prescribed file form as to the document information disclosed by using the Web service function, the communication apparatus converts the document information into a file of the designated file form, and thereafter applies encryption processing to the file and transmits the resulting file.
