PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer control apparatus and an image reading apparatus wherein a line sequential sensor and a dot sequential sensor are exclusively connected. SOLUTION: The data transfer control apparatus includes: a first terminal RIN1 for receiving a first signal; a second terminal RIN2; a first switch 121 connected to the first terminal; a second switch 122 connected to the second terminal; a first sampling circuit 131 for receiving either the signal of the terminal RIN1 or the signal of the terminal RIN2 from the first switch or the second switch both exclusively controlled; a third terminal GIN1 for receiving a second signal; a fourth terminal GIN2; a third switch 123 connected to the third terminal; a fourth switch 124 connected to the fourth terminal; a second sampling circuit 132 for receiving either the signal of the terminal GIN1 or the signal of the terminal GIN2 from the third switch or the fourth switch both exclusively controlled; a fifth terminal BIN1 for receiving a third signal; a sixth terminal BIN2; a fifth switch 125 connected to the fifth terminal; a sixth switch 126 connected to the sixth terminal; and a third sampling circuit 133 for receiving a signal through the fifth switch or the sixth switch exclusively controlled.
