PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved polyethylene naphthalate resin which ensures excellent delamination resistance and transparency and maintains a high glass transition temperature, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This polyethylene naphthalate resin is characterized by comprising an ethylene naphthalate component in an amount of≥50 mol.% based on the total repeating units and a tetracyclododedane derivative component in an amount of 0.1 to 50 mol.%.
