PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pre-treating material and an adhesive which each has excellent adhesive force and adhesive durability to the dentins of dental restored articles. SOLUTION: This dental pre-treating material is characterized by comprising anα-hydroxycarboxylic acid such as tartaric acid and/or aβ-hydroxycarboxylic acid such as glucuronic acid, an acidic group-containing polymerizable monomer, and water. This dental adhesive is characterized by comprising anα-hydroxycarboxylic acid and/or aβ-hydroxycarboxylic acid such as glucuronic acid, an acidic group-containing polymerizable monomer, water, and a polymerization initiator.
