PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for crystallizing a protein in which good protein crystallization can be achieved in a simple method by using a general-purpose microplate. SOLUTION: In the protein-crystallizing method in which protein crystals are produced in a mixed solution 14 in which a protein solution 12 is mixed with a crystallizing solution 13 by retaining the mixed solution 14 in state immersed in an oil 11, the oil 11 in only first amount required for covering liquid drops of the protein solution 12 and the crystallization solution 13 is previously fed to a well 10a and then, the protein solution 12 and the crystallization solution 13 are successively injected into the well 10a to form liquid drops of the mixed solution 14 and after the liquid drops are covered with the oil 11, the oil 11 is additionally fed into the well 10a to form an oil layer having a sufficient thickness D and the liquid drops of the mixed solution 14 are retained in a state blocked from the outside air to produce protein crystals.
