PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire improved in durability while avoiding any increase in the weight. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire, at least one belt layer 7 out of a plurality of belt layers 7, 8 arranged on a tread 1 is constituted by joining a plurality of belt layer pieces 7A in the tire circumferential direction TC. Thicknesses of adjacent side rubber layers t1, t3 from a reinforcing cord f to adjacent side faces 7x, 8x of the belt layer 7 and the belt layer 8 adjacent thereto are set to be smaller than the thicknesses t2, t4 on the counter adjacent side of the belt layers 7, 8 from the reinforcing cord f to the adjacent side faces 7x, 8x in an area 7S1 of the belt layer 7 with which the parts with at least the plurality of belt layer pieces 7A are joined, and an area 8T2 of the belt layer 7 facing the area 7S1. An auxiliary layer 10 covering a texture 9 or a non-woven textile with a rubber m is arranged between the areas 7S1, 8T2 of the belt layers 7, 8 of the reduced thickness. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
