<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a cross member of a push belt for a continuously variable transmission. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for forming the cross member (10) used for a component of the continuous push belt (6) for the continuously variable transmission (1) equipped with two pulleys (4 and 5) for the tension of the push belt (6). The cross member (10) has two main faces (11 and 12) and a circumferential face extending between the main faces. Further, at least one main face (11) has upper and lower high contact zones (22; 21a and 21b). The cross member (10) is formed by punching a base material (52). A low zone (53) expanding in the direction of height is provided on the surface of the base material (52) between the upper zone of contact (22) and lower zones of contact (21a and 21b) of the cross member (51; 10) to be formed by punching. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
