PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of maintaining dynamic resolution, capable of acquiring an image having a wide dynamic range, and for enabling wider range to be imaged using a plurality of cameras. SOLUTION: The device comprises a plurality of imaging means in which a part of each imaging area is overlapped mutually, luminance distribution detecting means for detecting a luminance level of each image signal to be imaged by the plurality of imaging means, area determining means for determining a proper area in which the luminance level of the image signal to be detected by the luminance distribution detecting means from among imaging areas overlapped mutually with respect to each image signal imaged by the plurality of imaging means, and synthesizing means for synthesizing the image signal imaged by the plurality of imaging means so as to use the image signal in an area in which the luminance level determined by the area determining means is proper among image signals imaged by the plurality of imaging means about the imaging area in which images are overlapped mutually.
