PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the width of an ink absorber narrower when performing a boaderless recording with an ink-jet recorder. SOLUTION: Nozzles of a recording head are divided into four groups. The nozzles for recording the forefront point and rear end of a recording medium are limited. The limited nozzles are made to be the same group when recording the forefront point and the rear end. The width of the ink absorber for absorbing an overflowing ink can be made narrower by using the recording head of the same group. As a result, the ink-jet recorder with keeping the cost lower and preventing a degradation of an image can be provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
