MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING APPARATUS AND ELECTROMAGNETIC DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus capable of expanding the imaging range of a subject and being miniaturized. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic device of the MRI apparatus is provided with at least a cylindrical coil container having a vertical cross section orthogonally crossing with the axis of an opening section of an inner cylinder formed into a race track shape. A plurality of pairs of annular coils MC1, MC2 and SC1 formed into the race track shape and symmetrically disposed with some interval apart in the coil axis direction are provided in the coil container. Each annular coil has a pair of opposed arc portions and a pair of opposed linear portions and the pair of arc portions are connected together by the pair of linear portions to form the race track shape. The plurality of pairs of annular coils thus form a static magnetic field for the magnetic resonance imaging in the opening section of the coil container. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
