摘要 The invention relates to wire-grid luminescence sensors and to a design and a method for increasing the energy density in the sub-wavelength slits or nano cavities of the wire-grid. By providing a first reflector or mirror on the back or output side of the and by using TM polarized excitation light, each slit form a small optical resonator with an increased energy density. By providing a second reflector at the front or input side, the energy density can be even further increased. The increased energy density in the slits leads to increased useful excitation volume and binding area.
