A compressor control method for an air conditioner is provided to stabilize speed frequency of a compressor by improving speed control based on a load torque. A compressor control method for an air conditioner includes the steps of measuring disturbance factors influencing on the torque of a compressor, such as an atmospheric temperature, a room temperature, an rpm of an indoor fan, an rpm of an outdoor fan, an opening degree of an LEV and the like for evaluating a load torque, and controlling a speed of the compressor by reflecting the load torque. A speed frequency of the compressor is controlled by feedback. The feedback includes a feedback initiating step(B51) of subtracting a speed frequency input of the compressor by a speed frequency output thereof, a speed control step(B52) of controlling the subtracted speed frequency for converting the same to pseudo conversion current, a current control step(B54) of calculating a required current by controlling the pseudo conversion current, a torque conversion step(B55) of converting the required current to a required torque for driving the compressor, a speed conversion step(B57) of calculating a speed frequency output of the compressor from the required torque, and a feedback return step of transmitting the speed frequency output to the feedback initiation step.
