<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unlock and open a car door without using the user's hand. <P>SOLUTION: If a Smart ECU 20 has authenticated the ID of an electronic key 18 carried by the user, the door lock 31 of a car door 16 to which the user is drawing near is set at an unlock standby mode. Following the setting of the door lock 31 at the unlock standby mode, a laser transmitter/receiver 52 issues a laser beam 54. If part of the user's body, e.g., his leg, is within the irradiation range with the laser beam 54, the volume of reception of reflective laser beam will change. From this volume change, a Door Lock ECU 70 unlocks the door lock 31, and a Door Opening ECU 72 releases the latch of the car door 16, enabling the car door 16 pops opening. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
