<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a window regulator having excellent durability and stable sensitivity in pinch detection. <P>SOLUTION: The window regulator comprises a motor for lifting/lowering window glass; a first electrode disposed at least at the upper end face of the window glass; a second electrode disposed on the vehicle body side; a capacitance measuring means for measuring capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode; a discriminating means for discriminating whether there is a possibility of a pinch from the change of capacitance measured by the capacitance measuring means; and a driving means for controlling the rotation of the motor, referring to the discriminated result of the discriminating means.
