<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an elevator device capable of safely continuing elevator operation even when a main rope and a speed governing rope etc. are largely swung within a hoistway due to earthquake. <P>SOLUTION: This elevator device is provided with a landing plate 16 arranged corresponding to a landing position of a car lifted/lowered within the elevator hoistway and detected by a detecting device provided in the car and with fixing means 22, 24 fixing the landing plate 16 to a hoistway fixation body 21.
