<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data input device using a force sensor, and having a plurality of data input modes according to the kind of application software. <P>SOLUTION: This data input device 1A has five input modes of a mouse (pointing device) mode, a joystick mode, a jog shuttle mode, a volume mode, and a switch mode.
