PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus where erroneous detection cannot occur easily in information buried in background. SOLUTION: A composite machine 1 includes an image development means 2 for entering a document image; a background pattern image generation means 10 for generating a background pattern image including a code image in which a plurality of kinds of codes indicating reproduction inhibition are arranged according to prescribed rules; an image composite means 11 for compositing the document image and the background pattern one; and a print means 12 for providing an output of the composited image composited by the image composite means 11, thus aligning the reproduction inhibition codes regularly for determining whether the reproduction inhibition code is true later by using a regular arrangement method, and hence preventing the erroneous detection when there is a pattern that is similar to a minute slash pattern in a general document to be copied and increasing precision in information detection.
