PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device, with a liquid jet device, which can remove deposited ink only whenever need be. SOLUTION: This inkjet recording device comprises a recording head which jets the ink to a recordable medium while scanning in a direction where the main body of the recording device is nearly orthogonal with the conveyance direction of the recordable medium, and a detection part which detects the height of the ink which is jetted from the recording head and deposited on a scanning track of the recording head at the recording device and outputs the detection results. In this recording device, a control means is installed which distinguishes the heights of the deposited ink by at least not less than two levels and allows at least not less than two ink deposit removal operations to be carried out at the respective levels.
