PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push-pull lock which facilitates changeover from a push-pull mode to a single-side operable mode by operation from the outside. SOLUTION: The push-pull lock is formed of: an engagement cancellation mechanism of a latch 30, inclusive of an operating piece 55; sliding bodies 46, 47 engageable with the operating piece 55; pressing pieces 28, 29 located in a lock box 6, for moving the sliding bodies by an operating force of a handle and against a spring force; and a movable body 40 arranged so as to be rotatable with reference to an opening 14 formed in a front plate 7 of a lock box, on a rear side of the front plate via a support body 15, and engageable with one end of the sliding body. When the specification mode is changed over, by rotating the movable body through a predetermined quantity by the operation from the outside, a receiving portion 47b formed at the other end of the sliding body is dislocated, and therefore the lock is set in an idling state in which the operating piece cannot be pressed even if the pressing piece is moved in a predetermined direction, whereby the push-pull lock is changed over to the single-side operable mode.
