PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which a heating roller is efficiently heated, and reduction in the surface temperature of the heating roller is restrained to maintain the appropriate surface temperature of the heating roller, in spite of low power consumption. SOLUTION: The fixing device 1 includes: a pair of rollers 11 and 12 abutting on each other through the circumferential surfaces thereof, that is, a pair of rollers (a heat roller 11 and a pressure roller 12) for heating and pressurizing a sheet passing through the abutting part 30 where the circumferential surfaces of the rollers abut with each other; an external heating roller 13 whose axial direction is parallel to those of the heating roller 11 and the pressure roller 12, which abuts on the circumferential surface of the heating roller 11; a heating roller cover 25 for covering a part of the side face of the heating roller 11 and covering a part of the circumferential direction of the whole axial area on the circumferential surface of the heating roller 11; and a bearing 24 fixed to the heat roller cover 25, for journaling the external heating roller 13.
