CASTING ROLL HAVING DIFFERENT DIMPLE SURFACE RATE ACCORDING TO THE SURFACE POSITION

A casting roll having different dimple area ratios according to surface positions of the casting roll is provided to improve the quality of edges of the casting slab by preventing solidification delay or rising of a casting slab at corner parts of the casting roll. A casting roll(1) having different dimple area ratios according to surface positions of the casting roll comprises a high dimple area ratio portion(A) with a high dimple area ratio formed on a surface central part of a casting roll surface, and lower dimple area ratio portions(B) with a low dimple area ratio formed on both corner parts of the casting roll surface. The dimple area ratio is calculated by (total area-area of a portion that is not hit by shot blasting balls)x100/total area(%), the dimple area ratio of the high dimple area ratio portion is 10% or more higher than the dimple area ratio of the lower dimple area ratio portions. The lower dimple area ratio portions have a dimple area ratio of 50% or more.
