IMAGE READING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND ORIGINAL SETTING INSTRUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of instructing again an automatic draft feeder about a top page of originals to be placed after jamming of the originals.

SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus (1) includes: the automatic draft feeder (2) for sequentially supplying the originals in an original bundle to an exposure position; a page number digital code detection section (17a) for detecting a page number digital code from a background design pattern image in the originals; a visible page number existence digital code detection means (17b) for confirming that a visible page number corresponding to the page number digital code exists in the originals; an original discharge sensor (9) for detecting jammed originals in the automatic draft feeder (2); a control section (18) for designating a page number attached to the original being the top page of the original bundle supplied again to the automatic draft feeder (2) after original jamming is eliminated when the occurrence of the original jamming is detected; and a user interface (18) for displaying the designated page number.
