PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid imaging apparatus and its driving method to control an image defect caused by a coupling occurred during operating a read transistor to control the read of a signal charge obtained from a photodiode. SOLUTION: An amplification type solid imaging apparatus is provided with a unit cell 10 to have the read transistor 12 for reading the signal charge of the photodiode 11 and to output an amplification signal corresponding to the signal charge, a first vertical signal line 109 and a second vertical signal line 203 connected to the unit cell 10, a sampling capacity 205 to store the amplification signal transferred through the first vertical signal line 109 and the second vertical signal line 203, a bias current source 116 to prevent the amplification signal of the unit cell 10 from transferring to the sampling capacity 205 in either of a start and a finish of reading the signal charge by the read transistor 12, a transistor 115 for controlling the coupling, and a coupling control circuit 117.
