PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump device in which energy loss and wear of a pump housing are suppressed without increasing the rotational resistance of a pump by the rise of the pressure in the pump. SOLUTION: This pump device comprises the pump housing, a drive shaft rotatably supported on the pump housing, a first gear having an engagement hole engaged with the drive shaft in a loose-fitted state, and a second gear meshed with the first gear and sucking and discharging a hydraulic fluid according to the rotation of the drive shaft. The radial distance between the outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft and the inner peripheral surface of the engagement hole of the first gear is larger at the both axial ends of the engagement hole more than at the axial intermediate part.
