PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a difference signal which enables accurate detection of a wobbling signal and wobble accompanying information in a wobble detector. SOLUTION: This detector includes boost circuits 101 and 102 for adjusting the boosting amounts of input first and second signals, and automatic gain adjusting sections 103 and 104 for normalizing amplitude of each of the first and second signals subjected to boost amount adjustment by the boost circuits 101 and 102. A difference signal generation section 105 generates a difference signal between the first and second signals normalized by the automatic gain adjusting sections 103 and 104.
