PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rock bolt driving method for efficiently driving a rock bolt, and to provide a driving machine for use in the method. SOLUTION: A predetermined hole is excavated by the rock bolt driving machine, then a hole wall protective pipe is inserted into a hollow formed in a rod in the excavated hole, and a steel rod as the rock bolt is inserted into the hole wall protective pipe down to a hole bottom, and the rod is drawn from the hole. Next, after drawing the hole wall protective pipe, or without drawing the same, mortar is injected into the hole, and therefore the steel rod is secured into the hole in one body.
