<p>A membrane comprises nano- or micro-sized channels consisting of monolithic or composite gel particles. The dimensions of the nano- or micro-sized gel particles embedded into the gel matrix can be instantly changed by environmental parameters, e.g. temperature, pH, ionic strength, salt concentration, composition of the mixture, magnetic or electric field, microwave, ultrasound or light so that pore sizes of the channels can be controlled within a wide range.</p> |
