A dimming device is provided to realize uniform dimming effect around an image even though light sources are larger than the image, by changing brightness difference around the image with a brightness panel. A dimming unit includes a backlight unit(110) mounted with a plurality of light sources(112.114,116), an output panel(130) positioned at a light projection part of the backlight unit for displaying an image(132), and a brightness panel(120) positioned between the backlight unit and the output panel and having a light emitting window(122) for transmitting light emitted from the backlight unit at a position corresponding to the image of the output panel. The light emitting window has a size smaller than the image output from the output panel, wherein a center point of the light emitting window corresponds to the image output from the output panel.
