<p>The method involves selecting a transmission frequency band(s), dividing it into sub-bands, determining the maximum transmission power per sub-band, sending data with matched modem power via a subscriber connection line to a modem. In single-carrier mode the data for all sub-bands are transferred with a power level selected from the detected maximum power levels. In multi-carrier mode the data are transmitted using individual maximum power levels. The method involves selecting at least one transmission frequency band, dividing the selected band into sub-bands, determining the maximum transmission power per sub-band, sending the transmission data with matched subscriber modem power via an associated subscriber connection line to a switching modem, whereby in a single-carrier mode the transmission data for all sub-bands are transferred with a power level selected from the detected maximum power levels and in a multi-carrier mode the data are transmitted using the associated individual maximum power levels.</p> |
