A DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) message service system and method are provided to allow a DMB viewer to participate in a DMB program using a mobile communication function of a DMB terminal while watching the DMB program. A message database that stores program information, event information messages and transmission time information about at least one DMB program is maintained(512). A subscriber information database that stores subscriber information about at least one DMB service subscriber and the cellular phone number of the DMB terminal of the subscriber is maintained. An event information message is to be transmitted is extracted with reference to the message database(514). At least one cellular phone number is extracted with reference to the subscriber information database(515). The extracted cellular phone number and event information message are transmitted to a predetermined message service center(516). The message service center transmits the event information message to the DMB terminal corresponding to the cellular phone number(518). The DMB terminal receives the event information message(519) and is connected to a predetermined server corresponding to callback information when receiving a callback request for the event information message from a user(520,521). |
