A mobile communication terminal for correcting a speaking manner and a method for controlling the same are provided to detect unconsciously repeated words and block the words, thereby preventing the words from being transmitted to the other party. A voice recognition part recognizes a voice signal input from a user according to words to output a corresponding signal. A determination part determines the words from the voice recognition part as correction target words if it is determined that the signal is input above a predetermined number for a predetermined time interval. A speaking manner list storing part stores correction target words. A voice filter blocks the voice signal if it is determined the signal relates to words stored in the speaking manner list.
