<p>Locking strips (38,40) secure winding modules to a rotor. The locking strips (38,40) have paired deep and shallow recesses (42,44) along a long edge (46) and are disposed in a groove along the rotor. Upon assembly of the winding module, the deep recesses (42) of the locking strips (38,40) are aligned, enabling the winding supports (28) of the winding module to engage in the deep recesses (42). The strips (38,40) are then axially displaced in opposite directions relative to one another to engage portions of the strips (38,40) within grooves of the winding supports (28) and edges of the shallow recesses (44) to straddle the winding supports (28). Pins are received in aligned holes (50,52) of the locking strips (38,40) in the locked configuration. Consequently, the winding modul is retained against axial and peripheral movement and outward displacement along a parallel face of the rotor shaft.
