An antenna unit, a method of controlling the same, and a mobile device including the same are provided to cover a wide frequency band relative to a channel bandwidth by transitioning between frequency bands receivable by the antenna unit according to selected channels. An antenna unit includes a rod antenna(101), two helical antennas(102,103), and a frequency band transition part(110) interposed between the two helical antennas. If the rod antenna receives a radio wave, it converts the radio wave into an electrical signal to transfer the electrical signal to the helical antenna. The helical antenna is coupled to a bottom end of the rod antenna, and receives the electrical signal from the rod antenna to transfer the electrical signal to the frequency band transition part. The frequency band transition part transitions between frequency bands receivable by the rod antenna and the helical antennas according to channels based on voltage values corresponding to the channels applied to the frequency band transition part via the helical antenna.
