HEATING CORN SYRUP SOLIDS WITH ACIDS TO PRODUCE A DRY POWDER

Hydrolyzed starch materials such as corn syrups are heated in the presence of acid to a temperature of about 300 DEG F. to 370 DEG F. The resultant product is allowed to cool and solidify; it may then be ground to a dry powder. The powder so produced can be stored in paper envelopes under rather severe temperature humidity conditions and will remain dry and will not clump.
