<p>The procedure uses a series of tools (7, 11, 13) in succession to shape the pots from at least one layer (1, 2) of a suitable packaging material. The material is first into sections (4) of appropriate size for the shaping tools, each section being made slightly wider than that necessary for forming and sealing. The sections are advanced with a spacing matching the steps of the shaping machine's operations, which have a pitch very slightly greater than the greatest width of the tools in the open position. The machine is able to deal with one or more rows of pots at each stop, using strips of material cut into sections by a guillotine and moved by a spiked chain conveyor (10). The pots can be shaped from a hot thermoformable material or from cold metal sheet.</p> |
