Fabric swelling - by water treatment before entering an organic soln phase

The fabric is either immersed in water or sprayed to soak it, and the water squeezed out and vacuum extracted to give an even and equal treatment with a swelling agent before it enters the treatment phase with chlorinated hydrocarbons or other organic solns. Difficulties in mixing swelling agents with the solns., where they are necessary, esp. in the treatment of cleaning and finishing woollen textile fabrics, are overcome.
