System for determining the location of participants of a satellite-based mobile communication system

The system has a radio reception and bearing device that is arranged in an aircraft flying in a determination area. The radio reception and bearing device determines active radio channels and directions (r1-r3) of active subscribers (S) on the active radio channels compared to momentary positions (t1-t3) of the aircraft. The radio channels are in an uplink frequency range of a portable radio system. The determined directions together with the momentary positions of the aircraft and the frequency of the uplink radio channels are stored in a memory of the radio reception and bearing device.
