PRINTER PROVIDING REFLECTING TYPE OPTICAL SENSOR

A printer including a reflecting optical sensor is provided to reduce the possibility of a measurement error by directly measuring the pass of a paper with the reflecting optical sensor. A printer includes a printing section preceding a printing operation, a paper supply section supplying a paper through a paper supply path facing the printing section, and a paper detection section for tracing the position of the paper transferred through the paper supply path. The paper detection section includes a reflecting optical sensor(110) and a reflection unit(120). The reflecting optical sensor is installed on the water supply path and includes a light emitting section and a light receiving section. The reflecting optical sensor detects the pass of the paper by using a reflected light. The reflection unit is touched and displaced by the paper passing through the paper supply path and reflects the light emitted from the light emitting section to the light receiving section during the displacement.
