A parallel/serial integrated demultiplexer system of a digital TV(TeleVision) is provided to manufacture a universal multimedia chip by selecting one of a serial input type and a parallel input type through a multiplexer according to an American input type or a European input type. The first registers(101-107) connected to respective input terminals receive input data and transmit the input data to an MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) demultiplexer(500). A clock comparator(300) connected to the first input terminal generates a selection signal(Sel) for selection one of a parallel input type and a serial input type. A multiplexer(400) connected to the second input terminal generates a different clock pulse signal according to the selection signal from the clock comparator. The second register(101) connected to the multiplexer in parallel transmits the input data to the MPEG demultiplexer in response to the first clock pulse input of the multiplexer. The third register(200) connected to the multiplexer in parallel shifts register information by one bit in response to the second clock pulse input of the multiplexer and transmits the input data of the serial input type to the MPEG demultiplexer.
