An apparatus for controlling driving power according to the exchange of an LCD device is provided to improve user convenience by receiving size information through an unused port of a central processing unit. An apparatus for controlling driving power according to the exchange of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a power supply device(41), a jumper/switch unit(38), a central processing unit(30), and a memory. The power supply device supplies driving power to the LCD device(36). The jumper/switch unit is manipulated by a manager so as to set size information of the LCD device. The central processing unit includes a port, which receives the size information from the jumper/switch unit, and performs a driving power control process according to the size. The memory stores a driving power value based on the size.
