A voucher printer having a shredder and a voucher shredding method are provided to restrict transaction details printed on a voucher and customer information from being exposed to the strangers by shredding the rejected vouchers, thereby preventing customer information from being used illegally. A voucher printer having a shredder(100) is composed of a recovering gate(60) installed at a carrying path to change a transfer path of the recovered voucher in recovering the voucher engaged with a voucher transfer roller(40) into the printer; a recovering passage(61) for forming a voucher recovering path under the recovering gate; the shredder installed at the recovering passage to shred the voucher recovered through the recovering gate; and a recovering box(62) collecting the vouchers cut by the shredder.
