A printing system with improved printing efficiency and a printing method thereof are provided to improve the printing efficiency while reducing waiting time by continuously performing the printing operation without stopping the printing operation when a promptly recoverable error is generated. A host(200) transmits a query for transmission availability to a target place to receive printing data, receives a response to the query, and transmits printing data if the response represents the transmission availability. An image forming device(250) prints the printing data received from the host by transmitting a virtual answer, indicating transmission available, to the host if the query is received and the error is the promptly recoverable error. The promptly recoverable error is at least one of paper shortage, cover opening, toner shortage, paper size mismatch, and discharge tray overflow. When the printing data is transmitted in a page unit, the query is transmitted before the printing data is transmitted.
