A portable computing device and a processing method thereof are provided to process a simple function without opening a lid of the portable computing device including a main and sub display module. A managing module(170) provides a function list to the sub display module(150) when an event is generated. A processing module(130) selects the function selected among the list by a user. An event detecting module(190) detects opening/closing of the lid of the portable computing device. The event detecting module determines the event when the lid is closed or input of a predetermined key is detected. The function includes at least one of a system management function, a BIOS(Basic Input/Output System) setting function, an OS(Operating System) setting function, and so on. |
