Use of transmission dyes to protect human skin from UV radiation

Disclosed is the use of an aqueous dispersion comprising

(a) a micronized sparingly soluble organic compound which has a UV-Vis spectrum with a maximum from 380 to 420 nm; and

(b) an anionic dispersing agent for protecting the human skin from browning and skin aging. Three crystalline forms of the compound below are also disclosed, wherein the crystalline forms are characterized by an X-ray diffraction pattern and obtained using Cu-Kalpha radiation which exhibits diffraction angles as shown in the disclosure.
