<p>The fibrous suspension (e.g. a paper pulp) issues from a nozzle between a pair of opposed entry rollers such that it is sandwiched between two support belts (each defined by a layer of parallel filaments) which pass around the entry rolers. The belts pass in a sinuous path between alternating, opposed curved guide surfaces, such that in passing around a guide surface the water is forced from the pulp under centrifugal action. Pref. the guide surface have a mirror finish, and each surface deviates the belts by 5 degrees. The machine, which can achieve high output rate is an improvement over the arrangement described in BE 744762.</p> |
